LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A 31-year-old man and his 33-year-old girlfriend were arrested over the weekend for allegedly abusing six children and causing permanent damage to their bodies.
Clark County court records show Amanda Stamper faces multiple counts of child abuse/neglect, while Travis Doss is being charged with attempted murder and over 10 counts of child abuse or neglect. Doss was also arrested on a charge of sex trafficking of an adult.
Both were taken into custody on Sunday, June 11.
According to KLAS-TV, Stamper and Doss live at a home near Flamingo Road and Valley View Boulevard with seven children. Doss is the father of six of the children and Stamper is the mother of a 2-year-old child who reportedly did not suffer any abuse. The children range in age from 2 to 11 years old.
Stamper reportedly sought help Sunday, the same day she and Doss were arrested. She reportedly alleges Doss sex trafficked her while she was several months pregnant.
KLAS reports prosecutors argued in court referring to Doss, "All six children have permanent lasting loop marks on their bodies, all over their bodies, from the abuse inflicted by this defendant."
Doss allegedly kept one of the victims in a cage and would only let him out to use the bathroom.
When speaking about Stamper, prosecutors reportedly alleged, "Each and every child has scars, loop marks, belt marks, permanent marks of their physical abuse that this defendant witnessed over a period of at least one year and she did absolutely nothing."
Stamper’s attorney said she "would have been subjected to serious, serious abuse" if she tried to stop the alleged abuse.
According to KLAS, Doss is accused of threatening to shoot one of the children in the head with a BB gun.
Stamper’s bail is set at $120,000, while Doss' is $250,000.
