DENVER (TCD) -- A 61-year-old woman was taken into custody recently after her 8-year-old nephew was found dead.
According to Denver Police, on Friday, June 3, officers responded to a call on the 1900 block of North Ulster Street, where they found the little boy deceased. His great-aunt, Susan Baffour, was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death of a person 12 or younger.
The boy’s identity and his cause and manner of death will be released by the Medical Examiner’s Office, police said.
Court documents cited by KCDO-TV say Baffour called 911 at 8:22 a.m. and was performing CPR on the boy when police and EMS arrived. Officers allegedly saw blood and vomit near the bed.
According to the documents, paramedics reportedly told police the boy’s body was already in rigor mortis when they found him. He also allegedly had bruises and other markings on his body.
Jail records show Baffour is being held without bond.
