DENVER (TCD) -- A box of human heads was stolen from a parked truck last week.
According to KMGH-TV, the truck, which was parked on the 7700 block of East 23rd Avenue, was carrying body parts for medical research. The Denver Police Department told KMGH the heads were in a box labeled "Exempt Human Specimen."
According to KDVR-TV, Science Care is the program responsible for donating the bodies for scientific research and education. It is unknown if the suspect knew the box contained human heads.
Investigators believe the thief broke into the truck sometime between 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, and 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, KMGH reports. The thief reportedly rolled out the human remains using a dolly in the truck.
