Police officer accused of sexually assaulting woman in Orlando hotel during birthday weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. (TCD) -- A police officer was arrested Sunday for reportedly breaking into a woman’s hotel room and sexually assaulting her.
According to WESH-TV, 38-year-old Jason Roldos and his friends were celebrating his birthday over the weekend and headed back to their hotel at the Hampton Inn on Universal Boulevard.
WESH reports that the victim returned to her room and went to bed around 2:30 a.m. She reportedly said she wanted to say in her room alone that night. Roldos allegedly claimed he wanted to conduct a well-being check on her, so another friend reportedly gave Roldos a key access card to the victim’s room.
According to WESH, Roldos entered the victim’s room around 3 a.m. and forced himself on the victim without her consent. She allegedly yelled for him to stop. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment, WESH reports.
Roldos was arrested and charged with sexual battery on a physically helpless victim and burglary with assault or battery.
According to WKMG-TV, Roldos has been employed with the Haines City Police Department since 2007 and will be suspended without pay throughout the investigation. He had no past disciplinary action from the agency, WESH reports.
