3 people, suspect dead after mass shooting at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

UPDATE Dec. 6, 2023:
Las Vegas Police said Wednesday afternoon three people and the suspect were deceased and one was hospitalized in critical condition following the shooting.
University Police Chief Adam Garcia said the entire higher education system in the region was shut down for the day out of an abundance of caution.
The motive remains unknown.

LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- Las Vegas Police confirmed there were "multiple victims" following a shooting on campus at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department said officers were responding to preliminary reports of a shooting at Beam Hall and that there "appears to be multiple victims at this time."
In an update, police initially said the suspect "is contained." Then, they announced the suspect had been located and was deceased.
The school also confirmed there was an active shooter in Beam Hall and urged students to "run-hide-fight." The school said everyone should continue to shelter in place and that "this is not a test." Minutes after that announcement, the school said there were reports of shots fired in the student union.
