HIGH POINT, N.C. (TCD) -- Police arrested a 57-year-old pastor last week after he allegedly assaulted his wife’s co-worker by trying to push his head into a deep fryer and punching him.
According to a High Point Police Department incident report, on Thursday, Dec. 28, Dwayne Waden’s wife was working as a manager in training at the McDonald’s on South Main Street when her co-workers allegedly started "disrespecting her." She called Waden for help, and after he arrived, he reportedly confronted the victim.
The report alleges Waden "walked around the counter and placed his hands around the neck of the victim, pushing his head toward the deep fryer."
Waden also purportedly punched the victim "several times on the face." Other McDonald’s employees reportedly had to pull Waden back to separate him from the victim.
The report said the victim sustained a "large contusion to the forehead and right eye," as well as scratches. EMS arrived at the scene, but the victim went to the hospital via private car.
Waden was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor simple assault.
Social media shows Waden works as a semitruck driver and as a pastor.
CBS News reports Waden’s wife is no longer an employee at the McDonald’s where the incident took place.
