MACON COUNTY, Ala. (TCD) -- Investigators are seeking a possible witness after finding the body of a 34-year-old missing woman.
According to 5th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Segrest, Sandrea Taylor was last seen on Feb. 26. Segrest learned March 27 that a woman's body had been located in Macon County and sent to the Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
The Central Alabama CrimeStoppers said the Macon County Coroner conducted the autopsy and positively identified the victim as Taylor. She died from a gunshot wound and her manner of death was homicide.
CrimeStoppers said in the statement that Tallapossa County investigators published a photo of a potential witness who was "possibly the last person to see Sandrea Elaine Taylor alive." The picture was taken from a surveillance camera at the American Inn in Alexander City sometime between Feb. 25 and Feb. 26, and shared by the Alexander City Outlook.
Investigators do not believe the possible witness is "suspected of any wrongdoing," according to the Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.
The investigation remains ongoing.
