8-year-old kidnapped girl found in Indiana state park; Nevada man arrested

NASHVILLE, Ind. (TCD) -- A man from Nevada was arrested after an 8-year-old kidnapped girl was found in Brown County State Park last week.
According to a press release from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, on the evening of Friday, Jan. 21, deputies responded to Brown County State Park to help locate Daniel Eggers, who was seen with a female child near the south gate of the park.
During an initiated traffic stop, Eggers reportedly refused to identify himself, and deputies arrested him for refusal to identify. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies learned he was wanted out of Nevada on multiple warrants, including kidnapping.
Upon further investigation, authorities reportedly determined that the 8-year-old juvenile traveling with Eggers was a kidnapping victim from Nevada.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Eggers was booked into the Brown County Jail and will remain held there pending extradition to Nevada.
The Department of Child Services reportedly took the 8-year-old kidnapping victim into custody.
