Cincinnati man accused of fatally shooting teen girlfriend during argument

CINCINNATI (TCD) -- A 20-year-old man was recently arrested and charged after allegedly fatally shooting his 17-year-old girlfriend.
According to a press release from the Cincinnati Police Department, on March 27 at around 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Forest Avenue to a report of a person shot. At the scene, authorities reportedly found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to her stomach.
The female victim, Auvionne Chichester, was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, police say.
According to police, the victim’s boyfriend, Javonte Dixon, was arrested and charged with murder.
WXIX-TV reports Dixon shot his girlfriend during an argument. Authorities reportedly do not know what caused the fight.
According to WXIX, Dixon appeared in court a few weeks ago, and the prosecutor spoke about past allegations of Dixon hitting women. However, the alleged female victims did not show up to the court hearings, and the case against Dixon was eventually dismissed.
