LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A 25-year-old man was arrested recently in connection with a 2021 shooting after he allegedly alluded to the killing in a video.
According to Las Vegas Metro Police, on the evening of Sept. 18, 2021, officers were called to an apartment building on the 5800 block of West Lake Mead Boulevard for a report of a "man down." When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and officials declared him deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, homicide detectives identified Kenjuan McDaniel as the suspect and took him into custody Aug. 29 on a charge of open murder with a deadly weapon.
KLAS-TV identified the victim as 32-year-old Randall Wallace. KLAS reports Wallace’s death was connected to another shooting in July 2021. Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents reportedly located the gun in April in Los Angeles. Around the same time officials seized the firearm, McDaniel reportedly posted a rap video on YouTube in which he shared details about the shooting.
He reportedly said, "Parked the car, double back on feet, the smartest way to slide, drove in, double lock yo man, make sure you get yo bod.'"
KLAS reports police wrote in the arrest report that in the song, McDaniel "reenacted Randall’s murder, which was consistent with evidence at the scene."
McDaniel also allegedly referred to Wallace by his nickname, "Midget."
Clark County court records indicate McDaniel is being held without bail.
