GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. (TCD) -- A woman arrested in a sting operation in 2019 was sentenced to 13.5 to 35 years in prison for reportedly using her 6-year-old daughter in a sex trafficking ring.
According to MLive.com, Jennifer Beckman pleaded no contest in Genesee Circuit Court to charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct during a felony and child sexually abusive activity. The charges were reportedly reduced from first-degree criminal sexual conduct and human trafficking of a minor, MLive.com reports.
Beckman was one of 22 people arrested in June 2019 as part of the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST) run by the Genesee County Sheriff's Office. Then-Sheriff Robert Pickell announced the slew of arrests on Facebook and said the suspects were "believed to have been targeting children in Genesee County for sexual purposes."
Pickell wrote in his announcement that suspects allegedly traveled to Genesee County from Saginaw, Shiawassee, Oakland, Wayne, Lapeer, and Tuscola counties. It totaled to 66 felony charges and, according to the Sheriff, 994 years of combined potential prison time.
Pickell told WJBK-TV Beckman "provided her own 6-year-old daughter to Michael Foster to have sex with." Foster was one of the 22 people arrested, and police alleged he was having sex with his 2-year-old daughter, WJBK reports.
Beckman will reportedly get two years of credit for time served, WJBK reports.
