LAS VEGAS (TCD) -- A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing and killing his mother.
On Wednesday, Sept. 14, at approximately 11:09 a.m., Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 2900 block of Juniper Hills Boulevard to a report of a family disturbance, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced. The caller reportedly told dispatchers that his brother, Pablo Bonilla, and his mother were involved in a dispute inside the home.
Bonilla allegedly threatened their mother with a knife and told her not to leave or else he'd kill her.
Police said officers "set up containment around the apartment and attempted to communicate with Bonilla and his mother to get them to exit the residence."
Officers requested SWAT and Crisis Negotiators, but before they arrived, Bonilla left the home and surrendered, according to police.
During a search of the apartment, police said they found the suspect's mother suffering from multiple stab wounds, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bonilla was reportedly arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder. He remains held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 20, records show.
Police said the Clark County Coroner's Office will confirm the victim's identity and cause of death.
