STOW, Mass. (TCD) -- A man stands accused of killing his teenage girlfriend, who was found dead by police during a well-being check last week.
On Friday, April 5, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers with the Stow Police Department responded to a home on Great Road, according to a news release from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office. At the scene, officers made contact with 20-year-old Shane Curry, who refused to let them enter the home.
According to the district attorney’s office, after around two hours, police eventually made their way into the residence and found Curry’s girlfriend, 17-year-old Neveah Goddard, deceased. Authorities said she and Curry lived together in the home.
Police took Curry into custody, and he was transported to a local hospital to undergo evaluation.
According to the district attorney’s office, Curry faces charges of assault and battery on a household or family member and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.
An autopsy will confirm Goddard’s cause and manner of death, and further charges are possible. Authorities did not release further details about how Goddard died.
Curry was scheduled to appear in court for his arraignment on April 8.
