WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah (TCD) -- A Washington County man is behind bars after he allegedly raped and assaulted a woman over the weekend.
Gabriel Newland Dutson was arrested Sunday on charges of object rape, rape, aggravated assault and assault with substantial bodily injury, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police said when the victim went to bed, Dutson changed into the victim's clothes and woke her up. He then allegedly assaulted and injured her.
Police said the victim bit Dutson's hand, at which point he walked the victim outside and let her go, KUTV reports.
During an interview, officers reported Dutson appeared to be "suffering from a mental disorder." He reportedly said that "God told him to do the above actions and was frustrated because he failed."
Dutson was held at the Washington County Jail.
