Man sentenced to over 100 years for killing 4 people, leaving their bodies in Wisconsin cornfield

ST. PAUL, Minn. (TCD) -- A judge sentenced an Arizona man to just over a century in prison for killing a group of four friends and leaving their bodies in a rural Wisconsin cornfield nearly two years ago.
The Minnesota Star Tribune reports Antoine Suggs received the sentence following his second-degree murder conviction for the deaths of Nitosha Flug-Presley, Jasmine Sturm, Matthew Pettus, and Loyace Foreman III. Suggs reportedly must serve 68 years in prison and the rest of his term on supervised release.
At the sentencing hearing, Suggs said he had "no beef, no quarrel or animosity with any one of them" and believed he was the "victim of others' greed and a victim of a wrongful conviction."
He claimed he shot them in self-defense because he believed they were going to rob him.
A farmer found the four victims deceased Sept. 12, 2021, in a cornfield in Dunn County, Wisconsin, though they all hailed from Minnesota. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Flug-Presley, Pettus, Foreman, and Sturm all died from gunshot wounds.
According to the probable cause statement, the farmer discovered a Mercedes-Benz SUV in his field and found Flug-Presley in the front passenger seat "with her head towards her feet." Sturm was behind her in the rear passenger seat, while Pettus was behind the driver’s seat and Foreman in the middle. The statement said the driver’s seat was "empty and there was no blood on it."
While investigating the scene, detectives determined the victims were killed elsewhere and put in the car. They also reportedly found Suggs' driver’s license, which was covered in blood.
The probable cause statement says surveillance video showed the Mercedes pull into a Wheeler, Wisconsin, gas station alongside a Nissan registered to Suggs' mother. Suggs' father reportedly drove the Nissan and could be seen handing something to the passengers inside the Mercedes. Investigators reportedly found blood at the gas station.
A witness reportedly told police they saw Suggs with the four victims at a bar in St. Paul in the early hours of Sept. 12, and police believe they were all shot between 3:40 and 3:48 a.m. near 7th Street. Suggs reportedly told his father, Darren Osborne, he "snapped and shot a couple of people." Osborne reportedly drove Suggs back from Wisconsin.
The autopsies determined Flug-Presley was shot in the mouth, and the bullet went through her spine and exited at the back of her head. Pettus had two gunshot wounds to the back of his head and one to his left arm, Foreman suffered a gunshot wound to his face and top of his head, and Sturm’s fatal shot went through her palm and into her cheek, which transected her spinal cord.
Osborne pleaded guilty in October to aiding an offender after the fact and was sentenced in December to about five years in prison, KMSP-TV reports.
