BURBANK, Calif. (KFSM) -- An Arkansas man accused of murdering his girlfriend and her 4-year-old son in Camden, Ark. in 2019 has been captured in California.
Jory Worthen was arrested by U.S. Marshals in California after being on the run and wanted for two homicides that occurred in Camden in 2019.
On June 23, 2019, Worthen allegedly murdered Alyssa Cannon, 20, and her 4-year-old son, Braydon Ponder, in their home located at 1338 Ronald Drive, Camden, Ark., according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Worthen lived with the victims, whose bodies were discovered two days later, at the residence at the time of the murders. Worthen left his pick-up truck at the residence and took Cannon's 2007 Honda Accord, which was found on July 22, 2019, in a Seattle Burger King parking lot.
In July, U.S. Marshals elevated Worthen to the 15 Most Wanted fugitives list. He was considered armed and dangerous.
The investigation led marshals to a hotel in Burbank Monday night. Worthen ran from marshals and local law enforcement officers, but he was found and taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Worthen was held on a state warrant for murder awaiting extradition to Arkansas.
