GOLDSBORO, N.C. (TCD) --
Police on Friday arrested a 29-year-old man after a woman's body was found dismembered and "rotting" in a stranger's driveway.
According to the Raleigh News & Observer, a local resident came home the morning of May 24 and saw a body in his driveway. He called 911 and told dispatchers "It looks like there is a rotting corpse on my driveway. It looks like the legs was cut off."
Goldsboro Police announced the next day they were investigating the death. They posted a photo of a black Cadillac sedan and said they were trying to identify the car in connection with the woman's death.
The Raleigh News & Observer reports Willie Lee Langston Jr. went to the police department on Friday asking about his car that was seized earlier in the day in Mt. Olive. According to WNCN-TV, the car was found that day, and Langston was taken into custody at the Goldsboro Police Department.
WNCN reports investigators have a tentative identification of the woman, but did not offer any other details except that she is in her thirties. Police were waiting until they had a positive identification from the North Carolina State Medical Examiner's Office and North Carolina State Crime Laboratory.
Langston was charged with murder Friday afternoon. According to WRAL-TV, on Tuesday, a judge in Wayne County ordered him to remain in custody without bond.
