PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (TCD) -- Police issued a warrant for a 21-year-old woman for allegedly stabbing her roommate at a restaurant during an argument over suspected stolen money.
According to a statement, on the afternoon of July 8, officers from the Seat Pleasant and Prince George’s County Police Department responded to a stabbing call at a restaurant on the 5900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. When they arrived, they found 62-year-old Mervyn Daniel injured. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Prince George’s County Police Department said Daniel lived in the same home as the suspect, Rayika Poston, and 37-year-old Jesse Culley. Investigators identified Poston and Culley as the two people involved in the stabbing. Police arrested Culley this week on a charge of accessory after the fact and have issued a warrant for Poston’s arrest for first-degree murder and other related charges.
The statement says Daniel was "stabbed during a dispute."
According to court documents cited by NBC Washington, Poston and Culley began arguing with Daniel at the restaurant where Daniel worked. She and Culley reportedly left the restaurant but came back and she fought with him over $10 she said was missing.
Then, she allegedly said in the restaurant, "I will kill everybody in this store."
Poston reportedly stabbed Daniel with a bread knife, and she and Culley ran through a back door. Officials found Daniel’s body in the bathroom.
