CLARK COUNTY, Ind. (TCD) -- A 38-year-old Arizona man wanted for child molestation reportedly faked his own death before he was recently arrested in Indiana.
On Monday, March 27, Clark County Sheriff Scottie Maples announced that Christen Allen Wright was located at a home on the 600 block of Georgian Avenue in Sellersburg, Indiana, and was arrested for charges of sexual misconduct with a minor, molestation of a child, and three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Prior to his arrest, Maples said Wright had "attempted to deceive investigators into believing he was deceased by driving to a local hospital in Arizona and having an acquaintance phone his family and tell them he was deceased" and that they needed to "collect his personal property from the hospital."
Wright then reportedly fled Arizona before he was found and the Southern Indiana Regional SWAT Team took him into custody. Wright was booked into the Clark County Jail and is awaiting extradition back to Maricopa County, Arizona.
Maples said the Clark County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the El Mirage and the Jeffersonville police departments throughout the investigation.
