HOUSTON (TCD) -- A 25-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly stabbing her 32-year-old fiancé to death in their shared apartment.
On March 20, at approximately 8:45 p.m., Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to an apartment at 16302 El Camino Real, where they found Nathan Freeman suffering from stab wounds. Police said paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
KTRK-TV reports that an autopsy revealed Freeman was stabbed at least three times, including once in the chest.
Liliana Cervantes was arrested on suspicion of killing Freeman on Monday, April 3.
The victim's mother told KTRK Freeman and Cervantes met on Facebook and had been together for approximately two years. Freeman and Cervantes reportedly had a 6-month-old daughter together in addition to other children from past relationships.
During the stabbing, the 6-month-old baby and Cervantes' 4-year-old child were allegedly home.
At the scene, officers reportedly found a butcher knife, another sharp-edged object in the home, and officials noticed bloody footprints.
Cervantes remains held in the Harris County Jail on $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 29.
Cervantes' 6-month-old baby and 4-year-old child are reportedly with her family. Freeman's mother told KTRK she is seeking custody of her 6-month-old granddaughter.
