MIAMI (TCD) -- A 24-year-old woman is accused of murder after she allegedly opened fire in the back of an Uber as a group of people headed to a club over the weekend.
Miami-Dade County jail records show Natalia Harrell was booked on suspicion of second-degree murder with a weapon and is being held without bond.
According to the arrest warrant cited by WPLG-TV, on Saturday, July 23, Harrell and six others got into a Cadillac Escalade Uber at about 2:15 a.m. when they called it from a location at Northwest Second Avenue and Northwest 10th Street.
A woman with Harrell invited the victim, Gladys Borcela, out to a club, but then Harrell allegedly became upset when Borcela started to "drink and dance." Harrell allegedly told the other woman to "get her girl under control."
Inside the Uber, Harrell and Borcela reportedly got into an argument that became physical.
The Miami Herald, which also cites the police report, says Harrell allegedly told Borcela during the argument, "You don’t want this; you don’t want me to go in my purse."
Harrell allegedly then reached into her purse and shot Borcela. The Uber driver reportedly stopped the car and everyone except Borcela ran out. Borcela, Harrell, and four men were reportedly going to the Icon Hotel and Residences when the shooting occurred.
According to WPLG, paramedics took Borcela to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A GoFundMe page for Borcela says she had three children and was considered "the life of the party."
