OKLAHOMA CITY (TCD) -- Officials captured a 22-year-old man this month three days after he allegedly killed his parents and his sister.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), on May 11 at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Chickasha Police Department responded to a home where they found two adult females and one male deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. KOCO-TV identified the victims as James Mayhugh, his wife Patty Mayhugh, and their daughter, Shayla Mayhugh.
Police reportedly found an AR-15 rifle in the entryway and determined Jacob Mayhugh, James Mayhugh and Patty Mayhugh’s son, and Shayla Mayhugh’s brother purchased the weapon on April 25.
According to KOCO, investigators also learned Jacob Mayhugh allegedly told his girlfriend on May 10 that he was going to eat pizza at his parents’ home, and he left her place shortly after 4:40 p.m. Police reportedly discovered a plate of pizza and a full pizza inside the victims’ residence.
Court documents reviewed by KOCO allege that Mayhugh had planned to kill his family, as well as commit "other acts of violence."
Officials issued a warrant for Mayhugh’s arrest on three counts of first-degree murder. OSBI agents and the Unites States Marshals Service worked to locate Mayhugh, and on May 14, the Oklahoma City Police Department announced his arrest. Law enforcement reportedly found the suspect sitting on a bench in Oklahoma City’s Bricktown.
