BEXAR COUNTY, Texas (TCD) -- A 39-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were arrested earlier this month after their daughter reportedly ran away and accused them of sexually abusing her for years.
According to Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar, on Nov. 7, Christopher Thomley and Ashley Thomley reported their 13-year-old daughter missing about four hours after the teen left. Around the same time, a worker at a local Amazon fulfillment center called the Sheriff’s Office to report a "small child running across the highway."
Deputies arrived on the scene and saw who they thought was a toddler but actually turned out to be the 13-year-old. Salazar said she was "scared, angry, and appeared to be much younger than she is."
The teen reportedly told deputies that Christopher Thomley "continuously" sexually abused her, and Ashley Thomley knew about it. Christopher and Ashley Thomley are the girl’s biological parents.
Investigators eventually obtained a warrant to search the Thomleys' home and allegedly found incriminating video evidence because Christopher and Ashley kept surveillance cameras. One such video allegedly showed Christopher and Ashley making a milkshake and pouring about half a bottle of a cough suppressant in it.
Salazar said they did this "in order to knock her out and sexually abuse her."
At one point in the video, Christopher allegedly said, "Shoot, we forgot the oxycodone."
After reviewing that video, deputies arrested Christopher Thomley on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a child, and Ashley Thomley for endangering a child.
According to Salazar, detectives are still combing through video and other evidence.
The 13-year-old reportedly told Bexar County deputies she had been abused for about four to six years, but Salazar said they are "not ruling out the abuse started prior to that."
