CLINTON COUNTY, Pa. (TCD) -- A 38-year-old woman was sentenced to up to 60 years in prison last week for raping a young child over the course of several years.
According to the Clinton County District Attorney’s Office, Tonya Krout pleaded guilty to three counts of rape of a child and reportedly "spoke matter-of-factly about her acts" during her hearing. A Clinton County judge reportedly imposed three consecutive six- to 20-year sentences for each charge, meaning she will spend at least 18 years behind bars. After those 18 years, she can apply for parole.
Krout reportedly raped the child between 2010 and 2015; the victim, a boy, was 6 years old when the abuse began.
The District Attorney’s Office said the judge did not want Krout to serve the sentences concurrently because he believed "Krout belongs in a state facility for a long, long time in order to protect other children that she might otherwise encounter."
She will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.
In 2016, Krout was convicted in New York for sexually abusing a 4-year-old boy that involved herself and "several other adults."
