HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (TCD) -- A woman was detained last week almost one year after she allegedly kidnapped her two children from Missouri.
According to the Liberty Police Department, 11-year-old Brooke Gilley and 12-year-old Adrian Gilley were last seen March 15, 2022, and were believed to be in their noncustodial mother’s custody. Liberty Police obtained a warrant for the mother on July 13.
In a statement, High Springs Police in Florida said officers conducted a "routine vehicle tag check" on a car and learned the vehicle owner, Kristi Gilley, was wanted out of Missouri. Police located Adrian, Brooke, and Kristi Gilley in the supermarket Winn-Dixie and said they were "disguising their identities."
Kristi Gilley was arrested on an active kidnapping warrant out of Clay County, Missouri. High Springs Police said Adrian and Brooke "will be reunited with their birth families."
