Virginia teacher arrested, charged with 23 counts of child pornography

COURTLAND, Va. (WTKR) -- A teacher in the city of Franklin has been arrested and charged with more than 20 counts of child pornography.
Southampton County detectives began investigating the possible distribution of child pornography based on a CyberTip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children on May 13.
Detectives collected enough evidence for a search warrant to be issued for a residence in Courtland. Additional electronic evidence from the residence was collected and analyzed by detectives, resulting in the arrest of Sean Everett Denne, 48, of Courtland.
Denne has been charged with three counts of Distribution of Child Pornography and 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
During his arrest and booking, Denne told police he was a teacher with Franklin City Public Schools. Franklin City Public Schools released a statement saying Denne was immediately suspended as a result of the charges.
