Minnesota football player accused of sexually assaulting teammate with toilet plunger handle

MINNEAPOLIS (TCD) -- A 17-year-old football player was charged on Friday, Jan. 14, for allegedly sexually assaulting a teammate last fall.
According to a press release from the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office, on Sept. 7, 2021, Alec John Baney committed the offense after varsity football practice at Proctor High School.
WCCO-TV reports that the teenager reportedly held the victim down with the assistance of others and removed his pants outside of the Proctor football locker room. He then allegedly penetrated the victim using the handle of a toilet plunger.
Baney faces charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct against a juvenile victim. Prosecutors have reportedly requested that the case be transferred to criminal court.
