Mom’s boyfriend allegedly sexually assaults 12-year-old, fatally shoots 3 teens and himself

GALENA PARK, Texas (TCD) -- Three teenage girls, one of whom was pregnant, were killed in a suspected murder-suicide after the 38-year-old suspect allegedly sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl.
According to the Galena Park Police Department, on Saturday, Feb. 18, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers went to a residence on the 2000 block of 2nd Street and found four people deceased from gunshot wounds.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division took over the investigation and said the case involves "the possible murder of three and a suicide."
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a statement a 12-year-old girl reported she had been sexually assaulted by her mom’s boyfriend and that he shot several others in the home. The 12-year-old took her 1-year-old niece and ran to her neighbor’s house for help. Galena Park Police and EMS located the female victims, who were 19, 14, and 13 years old, as well as a 38-year-old male who died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to Gonzalez, the victims' mother was not home when the shooting occurred.
KHOU-TV reports the 19-year-old victim, Sayuri Gill, was six months pregnant. Gill and the 13-year-old, Melany Torres, were the suspect’s girlfriend’s daughters, while the 14-year-old was a family friend. KPRC-TV identified the 14-year-old victim as Laisha Perez.
Galena Park Police said the 12-year-old and the 1-year-old were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
