ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (TCD) -- A 43-year-old man faces at least 10 years and up to life in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a minor for multiple years and impregnating her when she was 14 years old.
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri, on Tuesday, March 28, Edward Wiseman pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a minor and solicitation of child pornography.
Wiseman told officials he sexually abused the minor for multiple years, and after she was placed in foster care, he "sent her naked pictures of himself" and requested that she do the same. When she was 16, he reportedly met her to have sex.
During an interview, the Attorney's Office said Wiseman first lied about the allegations of rape and impregnation of the victim.
The victim's younger sister reportedly came forward and said Wiseman sexually abused her as well, but Wiseman denied the allegations.
According to the Attorney's Office, during a search of Wiseman's phone, law enforcement officers discovered child pornography.
Wiseman is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 4. For the coercion charge, he faces 10 years and up to life in prison, and he faces at least five years and up to 20 years for the child pornography charge.
The Attorney's Office said Wiseman also faces statutory rape and statutory sodomy charges in St. Louis County Circuit Court.
