Cleveland man who shot fatally woman in front of her kids while driving pleads guilty

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio (TCD) -- A 34-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison nearly a year after he reportedly fatally shot a woman in front of her children while she drove.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office announced Ellis Wilson pleaded guilty Monday to murder and having weapons under disability. Willis reportedly shot and killed Breyana Presley on Dec. 19, 2020, as they drove down I-77.
According to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, Presley was driving the car when she and Ellis reportedly got into an argument. Her 12-year-old and 8-month-old children were also in the car. Wilson reportedly shot Presley "multiple times" before getting out of the car near the Harvard Avenue exit.
Presley, 33, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her children who were in the car with her also went to the hospital, though they were not injured. According to her obituary, Presley had four children.
Officers reportedly found Wilson hiding near the freeway. The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office statement said he was arrested and indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, two counts of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, and having weapons under disability.
According to the Prosecutor's Office statement, Wilson will be eligible for parole after 21 years.
