Woman on parole for fatally stabbing one boyfriend accused of stabbing another in the neck after breakup

CHICAGO (TCD) -- A 55-year-old woman out on parole after fatally stabbing her boyfriend in 2014 was arrested again last week on suspicion of stabbing an ex-boyfriend in the neck in early March.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Veronica Wilson was taken into custody Friday, March 18, on charges of attempted murder and domestic battery. Cook County prosecutor Tom Lahood reportedly said in court Sunday that Wilson and the victim, who remained unnamed, were no longer in an "intimate relationship," but kept dating.
On March 5, Wilson and her ex reportedly walked around West Garfield Park in Chicago’s South Austin neighborhood. She reportedly asked the man to walk her to the corner, but he said no. The two allegedly got into a physical altercation, and Wilson stabbed him near the collarbone.
Lahood said during the court hearing that the victim’s brother rushed to help and put a towel around the wound. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, then transferred to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for the first of two surgeries. He reportedly lost feeling in his arm as well.
Wilson was charged with murder in November 2014 for fatally stabbing her boyfriend Andre Brown three times, Homicide Chicago Watch reported at the time. The Sun-Times reports she was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 12 years in prison. She was given parole in August 2020.
Cook County Jail records show she is being held without bond. Her next court date is scheduled for March 28.
