Florida man accused of driving into group of children, killing 2

WILTON MANORS, Fla. (TCD) -- A 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly plowing into a group of six young children and killing two of them on Monday, Dec. 27.
According to a news release from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 2:48 p.m., authorities responded to a call regarding a crash with injuries near 2417 N.W. Ninth Ave. in Wilton Manors.
Upon further investigation, the Sheriff’s Office says Sean Charles Greer was driving southbound on Northwest Ninth Avenue in a 2009 Honda Accord when a Broward County Transit bus stopped to drop off a passenger. According to the Sheriff’s Office, "As the bus pulled out to continue southbound, it began to merge into the right thru lane from the edge of the roadway. At that time, the Honda approached the bus from behind."
Greer reportedly passed around the bus, almost hitting the driver’s side before veering onto a sidewalk and striking multiple children. Greer fled the scene after the crash.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the two children who were pronounced dead at the scene are 6-year-old Andrea Fleming and 5-year-old Kyle Jones. Four of the kids struck were transported to a hospital. They were identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Draya Fleming, Laziyah Stokes, Johnathan Carter, and Audre Fleming.
Investigators were reportedly able to identify Greer’s vehicle because of damage caused by the hit-and-run, including a missing bumper.
On Tuesday, Dec. 28, authorities located Greer. He was arrested and confessed to striking the children, the Sheriff’s Office says. According to records, Greer faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene of an accident involving death, leaving the scene of an accident involving serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, tampering with evidence, driving without a license causing death and/or serious bodily injuries, and driving with a suspended license.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Greer is currently on probation for a burglary in Broward County.
