HOUSTON (TCD) -- Prosecutors have revealed more details regarding the killing of Taylor Pomaski, who dated a former NFL player now accused of killing her.
Kevin Ware was formally charged in July with charges related to Pomaski's death. She was reported missing in April 2021 and her remains were located and identified over a year later.
According to Harris County court records, on April 28, 2021, Ware allegedly stabbed Pomaski with a knife, then struck her "with and against a deadly weapon, namely a blunt object." The indictment says he hit her with the intention to "cause serious bodily injury." He then allegedly strangled Pomaski, killing her.
Pomaski's primary cause of death has not been determined yet.
He is also accused of tampering with her body "with the intent to impair its availability as evidence in the investigation." CBS Sports reports prosecutors allege Ware burned Pomaski's body and placed it in a ditch in Harris County.
Harris County Jail records show Ware was booked Wednesday, Sept. 7 on charges of murder, felony possession of a weapon, and tampering with evidence. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 12.
