CUMBERLAND, Md. (TCD) -- A 46-year-old man has been charged for allegedly killing three people in late September, including his pharmacist brother because he administered COVID-19 vaccines.
According to the Howard County Police Department, Jeffrey Allen Burnham was arrested Oct. 1 in West Virginia in connection with the deaths of his 58-year-old brother Brian Robinette, his 57-year-old sister-in-law Kelly Sue Robinette, and 83-year-old Rebecca Reynolds.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that Burnham had been incarcerated in West Virginia since Friday but has since waived extradition. He was brought back to Allegany County, Maryland, where he remains held without bond.
Burnham faces multiple charges, the Cumberland Times-News says, including first-degree murder for the death of Reynolds. He will also be charged for the slayings of his brother and sister-in-law.
The Baltimore Sun reports that Burnham allegedly stabbed Reynolds, who was found deceased in her Cumberland home with a pillow over her head and a deep laceration across her throat. There were reportedly signs of struggle, including a broken vase, cordless phone, and cane on the floor near Reynolds' body. Reynolds was reportedly a friend of Burnham’s mother.
Police told The Baltimore Sun that Burnham allegedly stole Reynolds' car and fled to Ellicott City, where he fatally shot his brother and sister-in-law. The Baltimore Sun says the Robinettes were found dead in their home on Kerger Road with a gun nearby and Reynolds' stolen vehicle less than a half a mile away. Burnham then allegedly stole Brian Robinette’s 2007 red Corvette.
Burnham’s mother Evelyn Burnham reportedly called Cumberland Police twice last week because she was worried about her son’s mental health after he made statements about Brian Robinette poisoning people with the COVID-19 vaccine.
Citing charging documents, The Baltimore Sun says Burnham told his mother, "Brian knows something." She allegedly told police that Burnham had kept a security camera system in his bedroom and believed the FBI was after them. According to the court documents, Brian reportedly told an unnamed person he thought his brother was "killing people with the COVID shot."
A tipster had called Maryland State Police on Sept. 30 around 5 p.m., telling them he had seen Burnham driving Brian Robinette’s Corvette back in Cumberland, according to The Baltimore Sun.
On Oct. 1, Burnham was found and arrested outside the Billy Motel in Davis, West Virginia, the Cumberland Times-News reports. Burnham had flagged down a firefighter and told him he "had been forced to kill three people," The Baltimore Sun reports.
According to Howard County Police, after West Virginia state police took Burnham into custody, they located a gun inside the stolen Corvette.
