They are the people we call at the darkest moments in our lives. We don't even know their names. In fact, we call them by a number: 911. Operators who serve as our lifelines.
And now Crime Watch Daily gets rare access to law enforcement and the thriving heartbeat of the city that controls the chaos in Detroit, Michigan.
Chilling 911 emergencies flood call centers across the across the country. Operators on the other end know they can be the difference between life and death.
Crime Watch Daily visits Macomb County, Michigan where the sheriff's department has given us unlimited access from the time a 911 call comes in from the time the deputies first respond -- and you'll see everything that takes place in between.
A call goes out in Detroit, Michigan: 50 shots fired at a movie theater. At the time, we were actually in a squad car with a sheriff's deputy racing to the scene while Crime Watch Daily cameras caught the drama unfolding at the 911 command center.
Crime Watch Daily thanks the Macomb County Sheriff's Department for the incredible access they allowed us. And we personally thank the brave men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.
Riding with them always reminds me of just how tough their jobs truly are.
