Ala. mom arrested on suspicion of murder after her 7-year-old son was fatally shot 'at close range'

MOULTON, Ala. (TCD) -- Police arrested a woman early Friday morning after her 7-year-old son was found fatally shot in her home.
Lawrence County Jail records show Shannon Karr was booked Friday, Aug. 4, just after 4 a.m. on a charge of capital murder. She’s currently being held without bond.
WHNT-TV reports Moulton Police Department officers were called to Karr’s home a little after 2 a.m. on Friday and found the boy deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Lawrence County coroner Scott Norwood told WHNT the boy was shot "at close range" and sustained two gunshot wounds.
According to WAFF-TV, Karr was outside the house when officers arrived and allegedly told them her son was dead inside.
