7-year-old accused of intentionally setting house on fire while parents were sleeping

JACKSON COUNTY, W.Va. (TCD) -- A 7-year-old child is in custody on suspicion of intentionally setting a house on fire while the minor's parents were sleeping inside.
According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, the juvenile faces a charge of first-degree arson.
On Wednesday, May 24, fire crews from Ripley, Silverton, and Ravenswood responded to the home in the Medina area, WSAZ-TV reports. The Sheriff's Department posted a photo of the home engulfed in flames.
Two individuals inside the home reportedly suffered burn injuries, but "everyone made it out of the home alive."
Authorities did not disclose the suspect's name.
According to the Sheriff's Department, "No further information will be released regarding the investigation because of the sensitive nature of the case."
In the state of West Virginia, court records note that a "magistrate may order a juvenile to be taken into custody."
