Florida man arrested after elderly woman's body found inside burning house

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (TCD) -- A 33-year-old man was arrested Monday after an older woman’s body was found inside a house that was set on fire.
The Daytona Beach Police Department announced Sunday they were investigating a "suspicious death" on the 500 block of Cannon Street. According to the announcement, someone called Volusia County emergency dispatch at 1:01 p.m. Sunday to report that a man who lived at the house was "attacking an elderly female."
When officers arrived on the scene, they reportedly saw a man walking southbound away from the residence. Responders also smelled smoke and discovered "heavy flames." According to the statement, after Daytona Beach Fire Department extinguished the flames, they found a woman’s body on the ground.
WKMG-TV reports Deandre Anderson was arrested and the victim was reportedly identified as Viola Miller. According to WKMG, she reportedly died before the fire broke out. According to WESH-TV, Miller was in her 70s.

WESH reports Miller and Anderson’s mother lived together, and Anderson was reportedly staying with them at the time. The family reportedly believes Miller asked Anderson to move out.
Anderson was booked into the Volusia County Jail on charges of premeditated first-degree murder and was being held without bond, according to inmate records.
