La. woman accused of throwing knife at victim, striking 2 elderly people and 1 juvenile

LAKE CHARLES, La. (TCD) -- A 37-year-old woman is in custody after allegedly assaulting multiple victims and physically resisting officers during the investigation.
According to a news release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, on Friday, March 31, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to a home in DeQuincy to a report of a "domestic disturbance involving a suspect with a dangerous weapon." At the scene, deputies learned Elizabeth Hext allegedly "struck a juvenile victim," as well as "two elderly victims." Additionally, Hext reportedly struck a male victim inside the residence and "threw a knife at him."
According to the Sheriff's Office, all victims had apparent injuries consistent with their statements.
Hext reportedly resisted DeQuincy Police Department officers and deputies during the investigation, "causing minor injuries."
The Sheriff's Office said she was detained and transported to the hospital before being booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of domestic abuse intentional use of force with a dangerous weapon, domestic abuse, aggravated battery, simple battery of the infirm, and three counts of resisting a police officer with force or violence.
Hext remains held without bond for the domestic abuse charges, and her bond was set at $20,000 for the remaining charges.
