Man accused of shoving someone into an oncoming train in San Diego

SAN DIEGO (TCD) -- A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly shoving a 68-year-old man into a passing train unprovoked over the weekend.
According to KSWB-TV, on Saturday, Jan. 1, Ryan Michael Rukstelis reportedly pushed Martin Andara of Santee in front of a train at the Old Town trolley station around 6:15 a.m. as they were both walking on the platform after exiting a southbound trolley.
According to the Times of San Diego, Andara suffered fatal injuries after falling into the side of the passing train and died at the scene.
The Times of San Diego reports that Rukstelis does not have a permanent address. He was arrested Tuesday, Jan. 4, shortly after 3 p.m. in Balboa Park.
Rukstelis was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and remains held without bail. According to the Times of San Diego, Rukstelis is scheduled for his arraignment on Thursday afternoon.
