Homeless Calif. man accused of pushing homeless woman into moving train, killing her

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (TCD) -- A 41-year-old transient man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly pushing a woman into an oncoming train.
According to a press release from the Riverside Police Department, on Monday, April 11, at approximately 6:35 a.m., officers responded to the railroad tracks at Madison Street to a report of a woman struck by an oncoming train. At the scene, the female victim was reportedly pronounced dead.
According to police, Kevin Errol Lewis was found nearby and detained. Witnesses reportedly told police they saw Lewis push the woman into the path of the train.
Upon further investigation, police say Lewis and the woman got into a verbal argument that became physical. Lewis allegedly pushed her into the moving train during the fight, killing her.
The victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed.
Lewis was reportedly booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center and charged with murder, domestic violence, and multiple outstanding warrants for theft and narcotics violations. He remains held without bail, police say.
According to the Press-Enterprise, both the victim and the suspect are considered homeless.
