MILWAUKEE (TCD) -- Multiple suspects are in custody after a missing 23-year-old mother was found dead earlier this week.
According to a media release from the Milwaukee Police Department, on Thursday, May 5, Emily Rogers’ body was found in Saint Francis. Police say they have several suspects in custody, but they have not released their names.
Rogers, a Texas native with a young daughter, was last seen at her home on Tuesday, April 26, WITI-TV reports. However, according to the Milwaukee Journal, she was not reported missing until May 2.
One of Rogers’ friends told WITI she discovered the victim’s phone near 36th and Branting in some bushes. Police searched Burnham Park, which is reportedly less than a half-mile away from the 36th and Branting area.
That same friend allegedly told police Rogers’ boyfriend was last seen in Burnham Park. Her boyfriend is considered a suspect and was arrested on May 1, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
According to social media posts obtained by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, photos suggest the boyfriend is the father of Rogers’ 1-year-old daughter.
Rogers allegedly moved from Texas to Wisconsin with her boyfriend in early 2022.
Police are treating the case as a homicide, and the investigation remains ongoing, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
