Pennsylvania man arrested after his mother is found stabbed to death on street

ARNOLD, Pa. (TCN) -- A 38-year-old man called authorities after allegedly stabbing his 73-year-old mother to death and leaving her on the street.
According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, on Sunday, Aug. 4, Arnold Police responded to Liberty Avenue after Brian Rebold called 911 to report a stabbing. Officers discovered Brian Rebold's mother, Diana Rebold, unresponsive on the road and "bleeding profusely from the head."
The victim sustained numerous stab wounds, and she was pronounced dead.
Neighbors who witnessed the fatal attack spoke with officers at the scene. Arnold Police Chief Josh Stanga told KDKA-TV that authorities located Brian Rebold near his mother, and he confessed to killing her.
According to prosecutors, police recovered a knife that Rebold had reportedly thrown in a nearby yard.
Police took Brian Rebold into custody without incident. He remains held in the Westmoreland County Prison without bail on charges of criminal homicide and first-degree murder.
