PARKLAND, Fla. -- (KTLA) -- The 19-year-old accused of gunning down 17 people at his former school on Wednesday told police he carried out the rampage, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police said an Uber car dropped off Nikolas Cruz at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School around 2:19 p.m. on Wednesday.
Within 10 minutes, authorities said he opened fire in the hallway and on school grounds and left campus undetected in a crowd of students.
Cruz confessed to law enforcement that he was the gunman who entered the school with an AR-15, a document states.
Cruz was charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder Thursday in the deaths of students and staff as questions began to emerge about his mental health and possible warning signs he left on social media.
