PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (TCD) -- A 27-year-old Georgia man stands accused of killing his father in Panama City, Florida, after allegedly getting kicked out of a home.
According to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, on Thursday, Sept. 22, at approximately 8 a.m., deputies responded to a home at 200 Jace Lane. At the scene, authorities reportedly found the body of Julian Clifton Davis Jr. The Sheriff’s Office said the victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The victim’s son, Tyler Davis, allegedly fatally shot his father and fled the scene, traveling north on Highway 231 toward Georgia.
Davis’ mother found the victim and called 911, WMBB-TV reports.
Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford told WMBB that investigators believe the suspect was living in Georgia, had been kicked out of a home, and came down to Florida for a few days. He allegedly showed "erratic behavior with family members."
According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were able to contact the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia and obtain warrants against Davis for aggravated assault for a separate incident.
Davis was arrested in Georgia and booked into Forsyth County. He will be extradited back to Bay County.
According to WMBB, Davis has not yet been charged for allegedly killing his father.
