TULSA, Okla. (TCD) --
An Oklahoma man was arrested in a police pursuit after allegedly shooting a man in the hand and allegedly trying to kidnap a woman at gunpoint.
Tulsa Police said officers responded to a reported abduction on the 5000 block of S. Toledo Ave. on Friday, April 2.
Witnesses called police after a shotgun was fired in the area.
Tulsa Police said an unidentified woman and her husband were leaving for work on Friday when they saw the suspect in a truck outside their house.
The woman told police the suspect, whom she identified as Justin Arthur-Ray Davis, is a former co-worker. She said Davis had been stalking her for more than a month after he resigned from their workplace, Tulsa Police said.
The woman “has made reports of Davis sitting outside her apartment and leaving candy and food on her doorstep,” police said.
The woman’s husband was reportedly walking her to her vehicle outside their residence when they saw Davis, who allegedly got out of his truck with a shotgun and ran after them.
Davis allegedly fired the shotgun through their apartment door, striking the husband in the hand. Davis then allegedly entered the apartment and grabbed the woman, police said, dragging her down stairs and allegedly assaulting her.
Neighbors who called 911 said they saw Davis choking and punching the woman. Davis reportedly pointed the shotgun at the husband and threatened to kill him as he tried to rescue his wife. Davis then reportedly fired twice into the air.
Police said officers arrived, and Davis got into his truck alone and led officers on a pursuit on Interstate 44, and wrecked his truck at the East 21st Street exit.
Davis was hospitalized, then booked into the Tulsa County Jail on charges of burglary; kidnapping; assault and battery with a deadly weapon; eluding; two counts of pointing a deadly weapon with intent; and stalking.
Officers said ammunition and a gun were recovered.
