Baltimore mom arrested after son found with knife in chest, daughter dead in tub

BALTIMORE (TCD) -- A 28-year-old mother was arrested this week after reportedly confessing to killing her 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son in their apartment.

The Baltimore Police Department announced Jamerria Hall was charged with counts of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and reckless endangerment of her kids.

Baltimore Police were dispatched to Hall’s apartment on the 500 block of Coventry Road at 4:37 p.m. on August 24, the statement says. A maintenance man was reportedly asked to look into an odor emanating from the apartment and then found the kids, The Associated Press reports.

According to the Baltimore Police Department’s statement, when officers arrived, they reportedly found a deceased juvenile male and deceased juvenile female. Baltimore Police said both children were "in a state of decomposition" and had "visible trauma to the bodies."

The children were later identified as Da'Neria Thomas, 6, and Davin Thomas, 8.

According to court documents obtained by WBAL-TV, Davin was reportedly found face-down in a sleeping bag in the living room and had been stabbed. The Associated Press reports he had a knife in his chest and a trash bag over his head.

Officers reportedly discovered Da'Neria in the bathtub with "an apparent clothing object" around her neck, WBAL reports.

Hall was reportedly last seen with her kids on August 19. That night, according to WBAL, a neighbor told police they allegedly heard Da'Neria yell "Mommy, no!"

Neighbors also reportedly saw Hall throwing Davin and Da'Neria’s beds outside.

WBFF-TV reports Hall called her mother on August 23 and told her the children’s father Davin Thomas took the kids and she was in the hospital. Thomas reportedly told police he did not have the children and had not seen Hall since August 24 when she was "walking in the area of North Ave and Bloomingdale Road, screaming and cursing at no one."
