North Dakota man arrested after missing 14-year-old girl found dead along Minn. river

MOORHEAD, Minn. (TCN) -- An 18-year-old man from North Dakota is in custody after officials found the body of a missing 14-year-old girl along a river in Minnesota this week.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, officers with the Moorhead Police Department discovered Jaelyn Walker’s remains after she had been reported missing the previous night. According to KSTP-TV, police said they located Walker’s body along the Red River. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Walker’s death a homicide by multiple sharp force injuries.
Officers identified Isaac Arndt as the primary suspect. They say he reportedly knew the victim.
Police located two separate drivers who drove Arndt to different locations on the night of Monday, Aug. 19. The first ride was to Fargo, North Dakota, where Arndt is from. The second ride was reportedly to the Moorhead Police Department.
Officers are still searching for a Samsung Galaxy cellphone in connection with the case.
Authorities took Arndt into custody in Fargo, North Dakota, where he remains held in the Cass County Detention Center. He will be extradited back to Clay County, Minnesota, and the Clay County District Attorney’s Office will file felony homicide charges.
