WEST MONROE, La. (TCD) -- A 35-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly left several drugs in her daughter’s lunch bag that she took to day care.
According to the Ouachita Parish probable cause affidavit, on Monday, April 5, a Louisiana State Police trooper received a call from a staff member at a day care center. The state trooper wrote in the affidavit that Jennifer Wise allegedly "left approximately one gram of methamphetamine, five and one half dosage units of clonazepam, and one half of a Xanax bar in her 4-year-old child’s lunch bag."
The trooper went to Wise’s home on Pankey Road in West Monroe to speak with her. Wise reportedly told him she "had an 'eight ball' of methamphetamine in her room." Wise gave investigators permission to search her residence, and they reportedly found about 9 grams of meth, scales, and "numerous plastic baggies used for distribution" in her bedroom.
Wise reportedly admitted the drugs found in her daughter’s lunch bag were her own and said she bought them for $75.
According to the affidavit, "Wise said she had actually misplaced the drugs and was currently looking for them."
Wise was arrested in 2019 for possession of meth. She was booked in the Ouachita Correctional Center on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of uniform controlled dangerous substances law, controlled dangerous substances in presence of persons under 17 years of age, two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance schedule IV, and possession with intent to distribute.
Her bond is set at $14,500.
