GRAFTON, W.Va. (TCD) -- Deputies arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly holding a woman hostage and threatening to choke her after they got into an argument about a McDonald’s meal.
According to court documents cited by WBOY-TV, on Saturday, Sept. 9, Taylor County Sheriff’s Department deputies received information that a woman claimed John Moore was "holding me hostage" at the Garrett Mills apartment complex. Deputies went to Moore’s apartment and knocked on the door, but he did not answer.
The criminal complaint says deputies eventually "proceeded to push the door open" and announced themselves as they walked in. As they entered, they saw the female victim walk out a door while Moore was "directly behind" her. The victim allegedly yelled for Moore to "get the f--k away from me."
Deputies caught Moore and took him into custody.
Officials spoke with the victim, who reportedly said she and Moore got into a fight because Moore was "supposed to bring her back McDonald’s," but he refused because he claimed she was "being a selfish b--ch and didn’t answer her phone."
WBOY reports the complaint says Moore threatened the woman by saying, "I’m going to choke you to f--king death and watch you lay there."
He allegedly added, "I am going to put you in the basement and starve you to death while I eat in front of you."
WDTV-TV, which also cites the criminal complaint, says Moore allegedly held the woman by her neck and ripped her shirt. While allegedly "restraining her by her neck," Moore held her at knifepoint and threatened to "slit your f--king throat."
WDTV reports Moore was arrested on kidnapping and domestic battery charges. He’s being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail without bail.
